SMOKE/CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS Homeowner Care and Maintenance Read the manufacturer’s manual for detailed information on the care of your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Battery If a smoke detector makes a chirping sound, that is a sign that the battery needs to be replaced. Follow manufacturer instructions for installing a new battery. This may also indicate that the smoke detector needs to be cleaned. Cleaning For your safety, clean each detector monthly by wiping or blowing out dust and debris from the unit to prevent to prevent a false alarm or lack of response in a fire. After cleaning, push the test button to confirm the alarm is working. Locations Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed in accordance with building codes, which dictate locations. Century Communities cannot omit any smoke detector and you should not remove or disable any smoke detector.

STAIRS Homeowner Care and Maintenance
No known method of installation prevents all vibration or squeaks in a staircase. A shrinkage crack will develop where the stairs meet the wall. When this occurs, apply a thin bead of latex caulk and when dry, touch up with paint.
TERMITES Homeowner Care and Maintenance
We treat the foundation of your home for termites and provide you with a certificate confirming that treatment. Treatment for other types of insects or animal infestations is your responsibility. If you believe you see signs of termites or if you have any questions, contact your termite treatment company for guidance.
