BRICK – WINDOWS AND DOORS

WALL CLADDING  A. Corrosion-resistant lintels installed over openings with a minimum bearing of 4" on either side of the opening. Lintels fastened where required per structural details.  B. An appropriate UV resistant through-wall flashing is installed over lintels with end dams at the frst vertical mortar joint and integrated with the water resistive barrier (WRB).  C. Weepholes installed immediately on the through wall flashing at every third head joint in the brick course above the lintel and at the end dams.  D. 1/8" Space maintained around perimeter between frame and brick veneer and fnished with backer rod and sealant per window and door manufacturer installation instructions.  E. Horizontal rowlocks and sills sloped away from the wall at approximately 15 degrees.  F. Through-wall flashing installed 2 courses below

rowlock sills at second floor window openings, integrated with the WRB, extending flush to the exterior surface of the wall, has end dams and weeps and is clear of the window flange.
