BRICK – RAKE ROOF

WALL CLADDING  A. 36" piece of self-adhered flashing membrane installed on the roof deck and laps the wall 18".  B. Roof underlayment laps up wall 12" and integrated with the water-resistive barrier (WRB).  C. Corrosion resistant lintel installed at the rake on top of underlayment and self-adhered membrane and integrated with the WRB. Horizontal cleats included with lintel for roof slopes greater than 7:12.  D. Step flashing installed sufficient distance from the wall to allow for the air space and the width of the brick.  E. Support Option 1: Brick over roof supported by a corrosion resistant lintel and a minimum of three 2x6 wood members. First member attached with Engineer specifed lag screws to wall studs and subsequent members attached with specifed nails at each stud.  F. Support Option 2: Brick over roof supported by

corrosion resistant lintel attached to double 2x4 wood studs with Engineer specifed lag screws at a maximum of 16" o.c. or to alternate engineer detail.  G. Stepped through-wall flashing installed horizontally above the kerf cut, integrated with the WRB with end dams and weeps.  H. Counter flashing installed in the kerf cut with a 1/2" fold above the step flashing and sealed.  I. Weepholes installed at the last brick above the required kickout flashing.
