B. Cement board siding As a cement product, this siding is susceptible to the same characteristic limitations as other cement products. Cracks more than 2” in length and 1/8” in width are considered excessive. Chips or dents not reported at time of substantial completion of the home are not covered. Cement board siding that does not meet these standards will be repaired or replaced. Damage to cement board siding not caused by Century Communities is not covered undertheCentury Communities’ Warranty. Masonry Cracks in masonry should not exceed 1/4th of an inch in width. Masonry courses should be straight to within 1/2 of an inch over a 20-foot length. Mortar stains should not be visible from 20 feet and masonry should not spall. Masonry that does not meet these standards will be repaired. Efflorescence (a chalky or dusty layer) on brick occurs naturally and is not a construction defect and is not covered under the Century Communities’ Warranty. C. Stuccoandsynthetic stone sidingshouldnot containcracks larger than1/8thof an inch in width. Lath should not be visible. Stucco siding that does not meet these standards will be repaired or replaced. Stucco is a porous, cement-based product that is hand applied. Exterior stuccowalls may not match when applied on different days or under differing environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity, etc. These changes are natural and are not construction defects. Wood siding Wood siding should not bow or buckle by more than 1/2 of an inch over a 32-inch length. Siding should be parallel to within 1/2 of an inch over a 20-foot length. Gaps between siding pieces or other materials should not exceed 3/16th of an inch. Wood siding that does not meet these standards will be repaired or replaced. Trim board is split, twisted, bowed or cupped Splits in trim boards should not exceed 1/8th of an inch, bowing should not exceed 3/8thsof an inch over aneight-foot span, andboards shouldnot be cupped inexcessof 3/16ths of an inchover five inches. Trimboards that do not meet these standards will be repaired or replaced. G. Exterior paint, stains and finishes Paint, stains and finishes should completely cover intended surfaces. Paint, stains and finishes should not peel or flake. Surfaces with these conditions will be repaired. Due to environmental factors, paint, stain and finishes can be expected to fade over time. This is normal and is not considered a construction defect and is not covered under the E. F. D. Stucco and synthetic stone siding
