PART 10: FLOOR COVERINGS A.

Vinyl floor covering has separated from subfloor Floor coverings should be secured to the subfloor when required by the manufacturer’s specifications. Floor covering that does not meet this standardwill be repaired. Vinyl floor covering has gaps at seams Gaps betweenvinyl floor sections shouldnot exceed1/16thof an inch.Gaps betweenvinyl flooring and other flooring materials should not exceed 1/8th of an inch. Floor covering that does not meet these standards will be repaired. Vinyl flooring shows ridges or depressions Ridges and depressions should not exceed 1/4th of an inch in vertical displacement over a 32-inch length as measured from the center of the ridge or depression. Floor covering that does not meet this standard will be repaired. Vinyl or resilient tile patterns are misaligned Patterns in vinyl or resilient tile should be aligned to within 1/8th of an inch. Floor covering that does not meet this standardwill be repaired or replaced. Vinyl or resilient tile faded, stained or discolored Over time, flooring will fade and discolor from exposure to light and foot traffic. Throw rugs and the use of cleaning agents not specified by the manufacturer may also cause discoloration and staining. These are not construction defects and are not covered under the Century Communities’ Warranty. Ordinarywear and tear and damage caused by anyone other than Century Communities is not covered under the Century Communities’ Warranty.  TIP: Heavy objects, such as appliances, shouldnot be draggedor slid across vinyl or resilient tile surfacesas theymaycausedamage to the flooring.Damage to floor coveringscausedbysuchactions is not covered under the Century Communities’ Warranty. F. Carpet is buckled or contains waves Carpet should be installed per the manufacturer’s instructions to prevent buckling or waves. Carpet that does not meet this standardwill be repaired. Carpet is faded or discolored Carpet is a consumer product and is not covered by the Century Communities’ Warranty. If carpeting does not perform to the manufacturer’s specifications during the fit-and finish warranty period, please consult your Customer Service Team for assistance in contacting the manufacturer or local distributor.
