FIREWALL/AREA SEPARATION WALL PROCESS Prior to beginning construction on any multi-family project, the following steps are taken to ensure division personnel, Trade Partners/Suppliers, and Third-Party Auditors have a clear understanding of the design requirements, details and materials to be used in the construction of firewalls/area separation walls. Architecture Ensure plans have the most current UL-Rated assembly detailed on plans. In addition, include the requirement for the Trade Partner/Supplier to install a mock-wall prior to construction start (at no cost to Century). Division Purchasing Verify with the Construction Manager the required material is correct for the detailed UL-rated wall. If material availability becomes an issue, the Purchasing Manager will contact the National Purchasing team to acquire compliant material for the assembly. Note: if improper material is delivered, construction must stop, and Purchasing/Construction leadership must be engaged to acquire the proper materials before construction operations can resume.
