MI LDEW AND MOLD

Homeowner Use and Maintenance Guidelines Mildew and mold are fungi that spread through the air in microscopic spores and occur naturally in our environment, both inside and outside of the home. Mildew thrives on wet or damp surfaces where organic material is present such as dirt, wood or dust. On siding, mildew or mold may look like a layer of dirt. Cleaning mildew from your home is your responsibility.

TIP: Solutions that remove mildew are available from local paint or home improvement stores. Wear protective eye wear and rubber gloves for this task; the chemicals that remove mildew are unfriendly to humans.

Century Communities Limited Warranty Guidelines We will remove any mildew noted during the orientation. Century Communities’ warranty excludes mildew.

MIRRORS

Century Communities Limited Warranty Guidelines We will confirm that all mirrors are in acceptable condition during the orientation. Century Communities will correct scratches, chips or other damage to mirrors noted during the orientation.

PAINT AND STAIN

Homeowner Use and Maintenance Guidelines

Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or scrub brushes. Flat paints show washing marks more easily than gloss paints do. It is often better to touch up marks on the paint rather than washing the paint.

Exterior Regular attention will preserve the

appearance and value of your home. Check the painted and stained surfaces of your home’s exterior annually. Repaint before much chipping or wearing away of the original finish occurs; this will save the cost of extensive surface preparation. Touch up the exterior painted surfaces of your home approximately every two to three years or as often as your paint manufacturer suggests for your area and climate.
